Paul Roy

"I am a visual artist, writer and musician living in Westmeath for the last 18 years. I have a Masters in Art in the Contemporary World from NCAD Dublin and a practice stretching back over 30 years. In 2020 I completed an MA in Art in the Contemporary World at NCAD, in which I researched the affect of the onset of a serious illness on an arts practice. My visual arts practice examines the phenomenological aspects of the body in relation to the compromises brought on by illness. I am especially interested in the writing of philosopher Havi Carel and her writing on The Phenomenology of Illness."
