Born in Dublin in the 1960s, Paula has been living in the rural midlands for over 25 years. With no formal art training, she is largely a self-taught artist and first came to art in 2015 during a period of grieving. Formerly an adult educator and business owner, nowadays she paints full time, describing her art as “an integral gift of the second half of her life”. Almost every day, she can be found painting in her garden studio just outside the village of Delvin in County Westmeath. “I’ve always had a sense of ‘root-lessness’ – a lack of connection to any one place that helped form
me. Born in Dublin in the 1960s I would describe the first 34 years of my life as almost ‘nomadic’ in its direction.”
